Dry Needle Acupuncture

At North West London Physio & Treatment Centre we use a specific form of acupuncture called Dry Needling. This technique is used on taut muscle bands and joints to eliminate trigger points and gain gradual relaxation in the muscle which will reduce pain.

Acupuncture is often used alongside other techniques to assist in pain reduction and the maintenance of muscle strength, function and joint movement.

Chinese  & Western Acupuncture
Dr Hubert van Griensven PhD MSc(Pain) MCSP DipAc FHEA

Hubert graduated as a physiotherapist in 1988 and completed a three-year diploma course in Chinese acupuncture in 1996. He has also trained in western medical acupuncture, including electro-acupuncture.

Hubert's clinical work starts with a thorough assessment to find out what will work for the individual person. He combines traditional Chinese and modern science-based approaches to acupuncture, in order to provide the most effective treatment for each person.

All acupuncture treatments are carried out in a safe and hygienic manner. Only pre-sterilised needles are used. They are discarded safely following treatment and never re-used. Side-effects are rare.
